Pastel Live 2024 is coming soon! I was asked by Blick Art Materials, one of their sponsors, to record a 10 minute demo for one of their advertisements during this year's Pastel Live. (Ok, it was painted in about 90 minutes, but edited down to 10 minutes for the ad ;)
Blick was super generous to send me these two pastels sets, Unison and Diane Townsend Terrages, to use for the demo (along with a bottle of Golden fluid Azo Gold acrylic to show in this photo!) It was fun and educational to limit my palette this way; I only added about 3 or 4 other pastels into the painting.
Though I'm not on the official faculty for this year, they did let me send in my supply list and bio to be listed with the others. Cool! I don't know when the ad will be airing, but if your enjoying Pastel Live this year, be watching for it! (If you haven't signed up yet and you want to, use the code KIRKMAN for 10% off!)
BTW, "Hala", the Arabian colt painting, will be available in the Pastel Live Auction! The auction will open on Monday, September 16th, and will end on Saturday, September 21st at 10pm ET. I won't have the link to my auction until next week, but you can check the Pastel Live site on the 17th for the Auction page!
