Third Place at the Pastel Society of Colorado's LET'S CELEBRATE! 2021 Small Works Pastel Show.
Judge Deborah Bays comment: "The mystical elegance of the feline is captured in this painting. The excellent drawing of the graceful feline form is beautifully supported by the vertical format. The textures of the pastel strokes and the warm/cool color palette draw us in for a closer look but don’t overwhelm the strong presence of this Rex cat. This is no sentimental pet portrait. This painting feels truthful, respectful and affectionate."
