A "Cow Selfie" Paint-Along Demo, on Zoom

The Paint-Along Demos are baaack! Don't miss this one!  Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 1pm Central Time.

I will be using pastel with an acrylic-based underpainting, but you can use the medium of your choice. I’ve had some attendees enjoy use oil, acrylic, pastel pencil, and even watercolor with my paint-alongs. It’s whatever you want to make of it, and plenty of instruction will focus on values and temperature which are universal to all color mediums.

Register early to have time to prep your drawing. I will send you the Zoom invitation, the reference photo, some surface prep info, some tips that include alternative underpainting methods in case you don't have what I use, and even a line drawing that you can use to transfer to your board or paper in case you don't have time to freehand your drawing. No drawing skills required!

The paint-along will start at 1pm Central Time and will last about 2 hours.

(PS: Registration includes a link to the video which will be ready just a few days later! So if you must skip out early, or come in late, no worries!)

Reviews of my Paint-Alongs

"You are definitely a natural in front of the camera as well as verbally. Your easy banter and friendly demeanor will really help other artists feel immediately at ease and unintimidated."
~Nan

"Today’s demonstration resonated with me more than ever!  I’ve been one of those resistant to underpainting because mine have been sloppy with alcohol, or too much an all-over toning.  But I think I reached a couple of aha moments today - - using your media for a more value targeted underpainting (maybe starting with 2 values), AND, painting small (again). THANK YOU so much!"
~Jane

"Thank you, I just love your teaching so much. I had to take a break from art ...and your pastel zoom class finally motivated me and kick-started me back, so thank you!"
~Lee Ann

"Thank you Rita - I really enjoyed the Paint-Along, and I'm especially happy to have the link so I can watch it and try this again at my own pace. Loved your colors."
~Alexis

"It was interesting to see everyone’s work. I really enjoyed the process and could almost keep up. I think your color discussions were really helpful. Thank you much!"
~Melanie

"I was surprised during your demonstration and now with the finished bunny the way it WORKS so well with the COLORS in the shadows rather than just painting a white bunny with brown spots and shadows of grey or something ... this way the bunny comes alive ... THANK  YOU FOR YOUR INSPIRATION!!!  Can't wait for the video to watch the magic happen all over again ... and paint along being able to stop and start etc ... this is going to be great!!!"
~Barb

"Thanks again for a great paint along session — I hope to do more of them!"
