Rita Kirkman Studio - Art News

Where did the summer go? I was really beginning to enjoy those (relatively) cool Texas August Days! September means back to school for the kids and back to organizing my business for me. I've got new works in Round Top, and a new site for Prints and More!

New Prints Available on Pixels .com!

I've recently been getting requests for prints of certain subjects, and some of my earlier paintings. So I've been gradually adding images to my page on Pixels.com.

One of the world's foremost online marketplaces and networks for artists and collectors, Pixels.com was recommended to me by several other artists as an excellent resource for selling prints and other merchandise directly to buyers.

You can shop wall art, home decor, phone cases, accessories, apparel, and more! Even beach towels!

Visit my page on Pixels to see all the image selections and the various fun prints and merchandise options!

New Works Available at

the Gallery at Round Top

Finally got some new works over to the quaint little artsy town of Round Top, Texas. The Gallery there now has a bunch of my paintings that they've never seen before, including "Deep Sheep", "Cat-ness", "C is for Cheetah" and many more!

Scan Pastel Paintings for Better Prints

a new Art Journal Post

A recent question from an artist friend asked about how I get good image files for making prints:

"...If you do giclees, what is the best way? Is there such a thing as scanning the art, do you take a photo?"

I replied: "Yes! Scan it! I highly recommend scanning artwork (and pastel is perfectly fine being placed down on the glass.) My current scanner is..."
