Rita Kirkman Studio - Art News

July 2016

Springtime always seems so short in Texas. Summer is here with it's usual vengeance. Since I'm spending more time in the studio and less time outdoors, that's working out O.K!

Rockport Art festival

July 2 - 3, 2016. Rockport, TX

"Lilbit" (pastel, 7x5 inches)

The Rockport Art festival is the one exception I'll still make to the summer heat! The people there are so nice, and the big air conditioned food and entertainment tent is just a few steps away from all the amazing fine art you'll find in the long shady tents wrapped around the perimeter.

Come out this weekend to browse the works of nationally acclaimed artists and enjoy a weekend on the Texas coast!

I'll have plenty of new paintings along with a few of my circle series... like "Molassas" here which will be on auction at the 47th Annual Art Auction Party on Friday before the Festival!

When I'm in a creative rut, the best thing to do is something different. When I was tired of ...
