September 2017

Mini Sunset 11 (detail)

It's been a heartbreaking week with hurricane/tropical storm Harvey wreaking devastating loss and destruction to homes, businesses and entire communities throughout southeast Texas. Recovery has just begun and is likely to take many months.

I am fortunate that New Braunfels survived with mere heavy rainfall and high winds. I am now committed to supporting the recovery effort and will be donating a percentage of my September sales to the Harvey Disaster Relief and Recovery.

Please consider a purchase this month, if not from me, then from any artist or gallery or business that you know of in the Houston and surrounding areas. With your support, you can help speed the recovery of local artists and businesses affected by Harvey.

A Mention in the Pastel Journal...

On a brighter note, my painting "Transience of Innocence" (pastel, 26x19") caught the eye of editor Anne Hevener of the Pastel Journal and is included in her article Pastel World 2017 (in the October issue) outlining 12 of her personal favorites from the Juried Exhibitions at IAPS in June.

Thanks Anne! :)

...and off to NYC!

"Transience of Innocence" has also traveled north to the Pastel Society of America's 45th Annual Exhibition Enduring Brilliance!

The show runs

I've been having fun with these tiny sunsets (2x2 inches) and using them to fill some ancient (10 year) discontinued gold frames from Hobby Lobby that I found in my garage over the summer!

Some of these here have not even been posted by me anywhere else yet!

They are $55 each, or contact me for a deal on two or more!

Here's how they look in the cute little gold frames...
