Rita Kirkman Studio - Art News March 2016 Barbara Jean Costigan (1927 - 2016) Barbara Jean Costigan (1927 - 2016) It's been a long and difficult month. Our Mom, 88 years young, Passed away on March 11. She spent two weeks with hospice care after a debilitating stroke in late February. We laid her to rest next to Dad on Thursday March 17. What a beauty! What a beauty! Mom with just a few of her six children and twelve grandchildren Mom with just a few of her six children and twelve grandchildren Image 2017568 Dear Mom, we love you and miss you! May the good earth be soft under you when you rest upon it, and may it rest easy over you when, at the last, you lay out under it, And may it rest so lightly over you that your soul may be out from under it quickly, and up, and off, And be on its way to God. ~ an Irish prayer _____ As for what's left of the month... I'm slowly getting back to "life" and attending to business. I have two events still on my schedule this month, a couple of overdue brags, and another workshop coming up very soon! _____ Pastel Workshops Life is precious and time is short. A big thanks to Marla Baggetta for Judging the show! The show is hanging in the Corridor of Art at the Chase Bank Building, 700 Lavaca Street, Austin TX, and continues through May 1. I was floored to discover that the other artists in the article are none other than Carol Marine, Roger Akesson, and Julian Merrow-Smith (I'm a huge fan!) Wow! This year worked out with no conflicts in my schedule, so I'm looking forward to participating. It's three days of art demonstrations, food, wine, live music and fun!
