Dear Subscriber,
Wow March was a fabulous Spring "Bizcation" in Florida, with three art
festivals in a row! I sold a lot, and painted a few more in between.
Here are just a few of the paintings I still have available, they'll be
with me at The Woodlands Waterway Art Festival
next weekend,
April 10-12:

I am going to TRY to paint a few more small works in the next two days
(Lol... we'll see!) but I'm pretty sure I'll have a good booth full
this weekend anyway!
Here's a little peek at almost what I have, with a couple small
exceptions...

I don't get a chance to paint en plein air often, but when I do I
always enjoy the results (I've even been awarded a few times!) Here I
am painting at Red Rock some years ago.

Pastel Workshop
Grapevine Texas (Dallas area)
Sept 28-30, 2026

Two spaces left!
This pastel workshop, organized by the Pastel Society of the Southwest,
will teach you how to infuse your paintings with warm light!
The backbone of my process is primarily my underpainting method, which
is a large part of the light and vibrancy in my paintings. The main
focus of the workshop is control of value and temperature as tools for
creating convincing light. I also talk about the advantages of small
and frequent ("daily") painting, which I feel very strongly about.
80% of my work is smaller than 8x10, and the small size, frequent
painting, simplicity of composition are all accompanying concepts. This
workshop is not subject specific, but most students do like to work on
animals, as most of my demos are animals, but I usually work in at
least one or two landscape demos too.

"It 's a terrible thing, I think, in life to wait until you are
ready. I have this feeling now that actually no one is ever ready to do
anything. There is almost no such thing as ready, there is only now."
